vRealize Operations (vROps) – Rebalance objects collection

Posted on December 9, 2021

Have you ever reboot your vROps appliances and your object collections is imbalance? One data node might be collecting more objects than the other data node. Then this may impact overall performance during the collection. We can actually rebalance all the collection with a click of a button.

Login to your vROps page (https://<vrops_ip>/ui), navigate Administration > Management > Cluster Management.

Click on Actions > Rebalance

You can also navigate Administration > Management > Collector Groups, click on the 3 dots and select Rebalance.
This will only rebalance on the the specific collector group that you selected.

Two things to note is that the rebalance feature will balance the collection based on the number of collected objects instead of adapters. The rebalance selection will not be available if you only have one vROps node.
